Hi Guys



As any sys or network admin would agree monitoring your servers routers switches is soo bloody important.

Most of you would have heard of Cacti. Based on linux its a monitoring system that will tell u everything u need to know about ur equipments be routers servers and etc.

Well cacti has always been encouraged and used under Linux but lately they have made an installer for windows side of things.

What do u need:-

1. xp sp2 with IIS installed or u can run it on
2. Windows 2003 sp2 server with IIS installed.
3. Cacti Installer.

Thats it. I have included in the package

1. Cacti Installer
2. Plug ins to make it awesome. Monitor plug in that will scream ur server is down when it is down.
3. My own instructions on how to go about doing this. Its very generic but i think it should help you out.




Thats my cisco router and dev server at home that I have the cacti running on. I have heaps of graphs being generated from them.

it is cacti installed vmware image or what ? why not u share instructions to install on windows.





Hey dude

I have installed it on
Windows 2003 server with IIS6. The installer installs all the dependencies for the cacti to run and will also show u the settings for post install instructions. I have a word document of the steps i took in doing the same. It maybe not complete but whoever comes across something new can also add and upadte it here.

good stuff man..can you give me the step-by-step procedure on how to install this in windows 2003 server. i installed this in fedora core 6 before and its a very nice tool. sample graph can be seen on this ip add: http://61.14.139.205/cacti

Have DL it, but no time to unzip, install or test it on my 5-server, 3 switch, 2 router Wired and Wireless network (yet)
