    Families are involved in the program.
    There are many child care programs out there to choose
    from, and most of them do a good job. However, parents
    are becoming increasingly more educated about child care,
    and they know what to look for when visiting a site. Early
    childhood teachers need to go that extra step and make sure
    that what they’re providing is in fact “quality care.”
    The chapter ends with the following predictions for the future
    of early childhood education:
    ■ People will continue to need child care.
    ■ More employers will sponsor child care programs.
    ■ Limited funding will keep us from extended existing
    programs.
    ■ Early childhood issues will remain in the public
    consciousness.
    ■ There will be many open positions for people wanting to
    work in this field
