One new course, Tactical Perimeter Defense (TPD), will prepare students for The TPD exam. This Instructor-Led course is designed to be completed in 5 days, with intense, practical labs.

This single course, Tactical Perimeter Defense, maps to the TPD exam and is designed to validate the foundational skills required by security professionals. These skills include, but are not limited to: Network Defense Fundamentals, Advanced TCP/IP, Routers and Access Control Lists, Designing Firewalls, Configuring Firewalls, Configuring Virtual Private Networks, Designing an Intrusion Detection System, Configuring an Intrusion Detection System and Securing Wireless Networks.

Upon successfully passing the TPD exam, the candidate achieves the SCNS certification.
Security+ certification or equivalent work experience is the recommended prerequisite for the SCNS program.
