Shakespeare for Students is an attractive and accessible 3-vol. set of essential criticism to the playwright's most-popularly-studied plays in secondary schools and undergraduate curricula. In all, 25 of Shakespeare's plays and some of his best known poetry are covered.
You'll find a diverse blend of criticism along with plot summaries and character profiles that help further decode these dramatic masterpieces for students. Each play is treated with approximately 50-75 pages of text. The format consists of three major sections: Introduction, Critical Commentary, and Sources for Further Study. Special features include approximately 50 illustrations, engravings, paintings and still photos; a Topics/Character Index; and brief annotations introducing selected critical essays.
